Sam Schuster ’13

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tufts chapter.

I met up with this adorable Campus Cutie  at exactly 10:1o pm last week.  Talk about charming.  Between telling me how he was made fun of in the 6th grade for saying “aluminium” instead of “aluminum” (aww) and discussing the intricacies of German reggae, we somehow had time for an interview.  Say hi to Sam if you see him around (no flirting, he’s taken).  He’s definitely the kind of person you want as a friend.

Name: Sam Schuster

Class Year: 2013

Hometown: Munich, Germany –> England –> Concord, MA –> Munich, Germany (again)

Majors: Economics & Chinese

Relationship Status: In a relationship

If you could have any superpower, which one would you choose?  To be able to go back in time- no regrets, ever.  Although super intelligence would be pretty cool.

Dogs? Cats?  I have both a dog and a cat.  My favorite types of dogs are the beagle, basset hound, and bulldog.  (What does that say about me?)  But I have to be true to myself and say that I’m a cat person.

What’s your favorite type of food?  Westernized Indian food and South German food.  Lots of fried stuff and potatoes.

What’s the first thing you usually notice about a person?  I feel like I do that general “up-down” thing.

If you were an animal, which would you be and why?  A mallard.  It’s a bird so I could fly, but I could also just relax and eat bread that people give me.

What’s your favorite type of music?  I go into phases.  Sometimes I like electronic/house/rave, and then sometimes I like German reggae, which is huge in Germany.  Right now I’m into folk.

What’s your favorite ride at an amusement park?  The drop tower.  It feels like you’re flying.

What’s your favorite thing about Tufts?  The people.  Academically, while certain areas are tough, it often feels like a lot of busy work.  The facilities are sort of average.  But the people make it all worth it.
