Fall Guide: The Boston Music Scene

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tufts chapter.

Although Boston Calling has come to an end, the Boston music scene is still pumping! Boston is home to many incredible concert venues, making for a vibrant music scene. Even on a collegiette budget, you can enjoy nights out to see your favorite artists perform! Here are a few venues and highly anticipated concerts this fall:

1.)   TD Garden

The TD Garden is the largest concert venue in Boston. Home of the Boston Bruins and the Boston Celtics teams, the Garden also hosts some of the most popular musical groups for concerts throughout the year. Although these concerts tend to be a bit on the pricey side, it is worth the splurge if you really love the artist.

This fall at the TD Garden:

·      Enrique Iglesias & Pitbull (9/27)

·      Stevie Wonder (11/11)

·      Usher (11/14)

2.)   House of Blues Boston

The House of Blues is my favorite concert venue in Boston. It is much smaller than the TD Garden and has a more intimate vibe. The general admission for the floor section can sometimes turn into a mosh pit, but I think the insane crowd of people makes the concerts more fun. The tickets are reasonably priced, usually ranging from $25-50. Look out for Timeflies here in November—they started recording together while at Tufts!

This fall at the House of Blues:

·      Hunter Hayes (10/1)

·      Capital Cities (10/28)

·      Timeflies (11/18)

·      BOB (11/22)

3.)   Royale

Royale is a nightclub in Boston that is typically known for its events with different DJ’s and has certain nights open to ages 18 and over. Royale also features live music (often less popular artists) on many nights that is always open to ages 18 and over and tends to be on the cheaper side ($8-20).

This fall at Royale:

·      Charli XCX (10/4)

4.)   Orpheum Theatre

The Orpheum Theatre was built in 1852 and has held many different performance types over the years. Currently, it functions as a live music venue with prices typically ranging from $17-60.

This fall at the Orpheum Theatre:

·      Jason Derulo (10/24)
