6 Ways To Change Up Your Gym Routine

Hitting the gym everyday and doing the same routine can get tedious.  Plus, you may not be working as many muscles as you could be! So that’s why we made a list of six ways to change up your exercise routine to keep yourself motivated and fit!

1.     Credit and non-credit exercise classes at Tufts. If you’re looking for something on campus, these classes can help you stay fit and potentially give you class credit at the same time. My personal favorite is Jen Gewant’s Wednesday night spinning class. Most exercise classes are already full for this semester, but check them out during class registration next fall!

2.     Tufts Student Resources also offers a range of student-taught classes and drop-ins are only $5!  These are perfect on a collegiette’s budget!

3.     Take a spinning class off campus! From Flywheel in the Prudential Center (your first class is free), SoulCycle in Chestnut Hill, and Turnstyle Cycle in Kendall Square, there are tons of different studios to try.  Plus, Flywheel and Turnstyle Cycle offer student discounts.

4.     If spinning isn’t your thing, check out the exercise classes at soul.train. in Teele Square. I recommend the Saturday Boot Camp at 9am and their “Crazy 8’s” (a.k.a. tabata) class.

5.     For something a little different, try the Yoga Sculpt classes at CorePower in Medford. This is a heated yoga class that also incorporates free weights to focus on strength training.

6.     When you’re stuck inside from all of the snow, doing your own workout with a workout video can be a great way to stay in shape without getting caught in a blizzard! Kayla Itsines has online guides and free trials that are perfect for your dorm room!
