Learn A New Language with Duolingo

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Towson chapter.

Ever want to learn a new language? Don’t want to committ to a semester of sitting in a lecture at 8 AM? You’re in luck because Duolingo exists! Duolingo is a free language learning website that you can use at your own pace. You can now learn any of the available languages which include Spanish, German, French, Italian, Swedish and more! Duolingo will soon offer even more languages such as Russian, Turkish and Hungarian and if you’re fluent in another language you can help contribute to a future course. You can use Duolingo on your computer or your smartphone! Check it out today!

Once you pass a section you can earn Lingots, which is a virtual currency that can be used to buy more lives or unlock new lessons.

You learn by translating words and phrases and using the microphone on your computer or smartphone to learn proper pronunciation.

So what are you waiting for? As they say in Spanish: Aprender algo nuevo hoy! (Learn a new language today!)
