It’s finally the end of my first semester of college. I keep looking at my calendar in disbelief. Where did the time go? It feels like just a few weeks ago that I was still getting settled in, making friends, and getting used to my newfound freedom. Now, I feel right at home. I absolutely love Towson! Here are my top five favorite things about college so far.
The Campus
Towson is really beautiful. Sure, my legs can get a little bit tired from climbing all of the hills, but it’s worth it. I’m in love with the trees. The architecture on some of the buildings is absolutely gorgeous. My favorite part of campus is The Beach, the lawn in front of the library. It makes me happy, even though I can’t explain why.
Studying what I Love
I am so grateful that I am almost exclusively taking classes for my major. Most of my freshman friends are taking countless gen eds, but I’m doing what I love every day. Next semester, I’ll be taking 13 credits of dance courses. It’ll be tiring, but being able to feed my passion every single day will make the exhaustion worthwhile.
The People
There are so many interesting people at Towson! At such a large school, there’s bound to be a diverse students body. I’ve been able to meet people who come from a wide array of backgrounds and experiences.
Dorm Life
The majority of my main friend group lives on the same floor as me in our dorm. It’s so much fun living a few doors down from my best friends! I almost always have someone to hang out with. It doesn’t get lonely!
Her Campus Towson
Of course, I have to include Her Campus Towson on this list! I love being a part of such an inclusive, friendly, and dedicated group of people. Being able to write about topics that I’m interested in is amazing, and I love being able to share my work with my family and friends.
