5 Things to Do When You Miss Your Best Friend

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Towson chapter.

Maybe your BFF goes to another college or maybe moved to another state recently. Of course you’re going to miss them like crazy! You’re no longer able to randomly show up at their house and go on adventures and you can’t see them everyday. I know that everyone will miss their best friend at some point, so here are things you can do the next time you miss yours!

1. Start planning your next adventure together:

This could be something as simple as a trip to the mall or it could be a mini vacation! Maybe you want to start planning a road trip with your best friend or maybe you want to plan a shopping trip to New York City. Even though you can’t be with your BFF right now, it will make you feel better to think about how much fun you will have together when you put these plans into effect.

2. Make a schedule for skype/facetime calls:

When you two are far apart, it can be difficult to find time to talk to each other, especially if you are in different time zones. It would be helpful for you to sit down and schedule the times that both you and your friend are free so that you can always have a skype/facetime chat to look forward to!

3. Look at old pictures and remember good memories:

When missing your friend, it can be helpful to look at old pictures. It will make you feel better to scroll through the selfies and silly photos that are on your camera roll. As you look through them you will remember everything that happened and led up to these pictures. Remembering good times will always make you smile and make your heart feel warm.

4.  Send them a message whenever you think of them:

If something makes you think of your best friend, send them a message and let them know! It will make them feel good to know that you’re thinking of them or that certain things remind you of them. It will also make you feel good as you share these small moments with your BFF.

5. Just call them whenever you feel like you need too!

If you feel like you need to urgently talk to your best friend or you just want to hear her voice, just call her. She will definitely pick up, even if she’s busy. Best friend’s know that all phone calls are important, even if you’re just calling to talk about how your crush smiled at you as he walked by.
