Getting Stately with Madison Yandell

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Texas chapter.

Name: Madison Yandell

Major: Government

Year: Sophomore

Hometown: Wichita Falls

Her Campus Texas: What are you involved in on campus? (feel free to expand on one specific position if that’s your favorite one)

Madison Yandell: I am in Texas Royals in which I serve on the philanthropy committee. I am the Administrative Director for College Republicans, and I am also a part of Longhorn Advocates.

HCTX: What are you involved in off the forty acres that you think has a huge impact on your life?

MY: I am currently interning for a State Representative during the legislative session. This is really important to not only gaining experience needed for my career but connections with those who can help advance me in my career.

HCTX: What’s the best part about attending a school like UT?

MY: At lot of people complain about the size, however, I love the opportunities such a large school affords me. I also love the location. Going to school in a big city means there is so much more to do than just what the campus offers.

HCTX: What do you do when you have free time in your busy schedule?

MY: I love going out and having fun with my friends. I also watch a lot of Netflix (currently Criminal Minds).

HCTX: Where do you see yourself in 10 years as a result of the experiences you’ve had here?

MY: I hope to see myself working in the Capitol. I have also developed a passion for higher education since starting college, so I’d love to take that into my career.

I am Corisa but a lot of my friends call me Cori! I feel like the real life Hannah Horvath from Girls.
