Coleton Pierson, 2016

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Texas chapter.

Coleton Pierson is a gentleman and a fun person to hang out with. Whether you are heading for drinks downtown or watching a movie at your apartment, he is a fun guest to have!

Her Campus Texas: What is your major?

Coleton Pierson: I’m currently majoring in Computer Science and Minoring in Business.HCTX: Your hometown?CP: I grew up in a small town 60 miles East of Dallas called Edgewood.HCTX: What is one thing you wish you could go back and tell your freshman self?CP: I’m not sure I would tell myself to do anything differently. I got a job with an awesome startup my freshman year and it really made an impact on my life. Freshman year was definitely pretty laid back and easy. Maybe I would tell myself to consider taking a year off to backpack across Europe instead of a semester. I really with I would have stayed longer.HCTX: When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?CP: I kind of always knew which direction I was going into growing up. I got exposure to similar stuff that I do now when I was 8 so it’s just the path I fell into. I probably had some ideas before that like President and all the other common ones kids have but I have been pretty set on my path since as far back as I can remember.HCTX: During truth or dare, do you usually pick truth? Or dare?CP: Dare. I always enjoy doing crazy things. I usually have no problem telling people the truth so there would be nothing interesting that would come from it.HCTX: What was your best Halloween costume?CP: I don’t dress up very often for Halloween, although I have gone as Jack Sparrow and V from Vendetta in the past.HCTX: What do you like to do in Austin for Halloween?CP: I always love to go downtown and see everyone out on 6th street. Halloween costumes are always interesting, but Austin being Austin, there are always some really unique costumes that I see every year. I usually just go out with my friends and drink and see where the night goes.HCTX: What are your favorite restaurants and bars in Austin?CP: Austin has some amazing restaurants. A few of my favorite places to eat are Heros Gyros, Garbo’s, Veracruz, and Due Forni. As for bars, I have a lot of favorite bars that I go to downtown. I usually start on 5th and find myself in Handlebar and Russian House, then usually make an appearance at Cheers on 6th later on in the night. If I’m around Rainy Street, then I usually am in between Lucille and Icenhauer’s.

Sounds like he knows what he’s talking about! I guess I’ll be asking him to be my downtown guide sometime soon.

I am Corisa but a lot of my friends call me Cori! I feel like the real life Hannah Horvath from Girls.
