It’s the Most Wonderful TIme of the Year; the Happiest Season of AllBy December 12, 2011 - 1:23am As if it wasn’t obvious, I am OBSESSED with all things December. Not only is my birthday December 26th (feel free to send me Tiff’s Treats and other goodies!) but there’s something in the air so that between December 1-31, everything is just that much better. Facebook account hacked? Doesn’t matter, because “How the Grinch Who Stole Christmas” is on ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas tonight. Failed a quiz? Doesn’t matter, simply because you got to write “December” when you wrote the date! Spilled hot chocolate on your new suede boots? Doesn’t matter...well okay, this one might matter. BUT, it was in one of Starbucks’ fancy winter cups. Even with so many great things about the holidays, I think traditions are my favorite part!... |

Diya Liu: A fashion do and winner of the Front Row ChallengeBy December 6, 2011 - 12:41am Not long ago, I attended the Marie Claire’s Front Row Challenge with LOFT and Rimmel London here in Austin. The contest viewed submissions from students all over the country and chose four talented girls to produce a fashion show in the city of their university. Diya Liu, a chemical engineering senior, beat out hundreds of entries and won over three over finalists to win the Front Row Challenge. What did she win exactly? Opportunities to intern at Marie Claire, LOFT, and Rimmel London, that’s what. Yeah me neither. Just kidding, I’m pretty sure I’ve had that feeling several times since I was able to walk! Again, I’m joking. In all honesty this is probably the greatest yet worst feeling ever. It’s all nice and dandy to have a crush on someone because seeing him, talking to him, and spending time with him only brightens your day more. Wait, why do I have Google+?By October 31, 2011 - 10:41pm I ask myself this question every time I check my Gmail and see that little red notification tab. Instead of inciting excitement or curiosity in me like Facebook does, it's just an annoying little eyesore that I have to click on the make it go away. And it's never anything exciting. Example: "Oh look, some people added me to their circles.” That's all my notifications are, because, just like me, all my friends are doing are adding other people and then sitting and staring at their blank profiles. My problem with Google+ is that there was way too much time between the day it came out in beta and the day it came out for everyone. By the time it was available to everyone, the hype about Google+ had more than died down.... |
