We Rounded Up The Best Study Spots for Temple Students Everywhere

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Temple chapter.

It’s the latter part of the school year, meaning the same old study spots start to become casual hangout spots rather than places to grind out that six-page paper or review notes for that hard-ass grueling bio exam. Finding the perfect workplace can be a sort of nirvana for most people. But don’t let the work-load weigh you down: with the help of a few fellow girl-bosses, I was able to compile a list of key study spots so you can produce the best work possible and become a bonafide #bossbabe.

1. Tech Center

The Tech Center is what you make of it. It’s a favorite spot to go, grind, and grab a coffee to finish up on those last minute projects. For the full experience and most procrastination-free studying, use the double-screened computer to eliminate distractions from outside elements. The only problem with the Tech Center is that it can become a social scene if too many friends and study groups gather at once. So, unless you don’t mind the consistent hum of gossip, it might be best for you to avoid places like purple or yellow room.

2. Paley Library

Paley is a quiet place on campus and a favorite among many students. Find yourself a nook on the second floor, and all distractions will simply disappear. It’s in a prime location on campus since it’s relatively close to a lot of the academic buildings. One helpful hint: get there early during work heavy weeks of the semester to ensure you get an outlet (there’s like, not many). Arriving early will also help you avoid crowds and give yourself plenty of time to settle in and find a spot.

3. Engineering Building

Even if you’re not an engineering major, this place is full of hard workers that will motivate you to get work done. In fact, everyone is so focused that you’ll want to put your phone away since you’ll be so inspired by the people around you. It’s a unique spot for the perfect switch up.

4. Saige Cafe

Located right behind Anderson and Gladfelter, Saige is a quiet little coffee shop to fill all your study and snack needs. Its aesthetic is pleasing to most and the bagels are too good to pass up. Bring your MacBook and a small group of friends to work on a group project. The combination of comfortable furniture, natural lighting, and strong coffee is the ideal mash-up to study and get it done.

5. Sunday Center City Trips

After a nice brunch with your gal pals, go to a center city coffee shop and enjoy the ability to easily access Philadelphia’s finer things. Treat yourself to a boujee cup of cafe and a beautiful view to warn off those “Sunday Scaries.” This can be a fun way to find your perfect spot and make studying a little better. This can also be a good idea before or after a night class at the Center City campus. So what if study excursions are a little extra? Sundays are already hard enough with thinking about the week to come.
