Temple Homecoming 2015

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Temple chapter.

Most Temple students have heard of homecoming week and are eager for the week of festivities to begin, but what is it about homecoming that makes it so special? For starters, it’s something that everyone can enjoy. From arts to sports to music, there are various activities where everyone has the chance to get involved and celebrate with their friends. During the week, the students, alumni, and Temple family show off our pride as we embrace the amazing things that Temple has to offer. While each event may pertain to a certain category, it’s a chance for all of the Temple community to come together. From Oct. 5th to Oct. 11th, Temple will provide host various activities and events on campus. Some of the most popular events include the tailgate, the football game, and the concerts.

One of the biggest events that has everybody talking is Owlchella. Originally, the event was set for the Friday, Oct 9th but due to a slight performance change, has been moved to Wednesday, Oct. 7th. While this sudden change was unexpected, the majority of students are still excited to attend. Performers at Owlchella include Fetty Wap, Jhene Aiko and Logic. The concert will take place at 8:30 p.m. in the Liacouras Center.

On Saturday October 10th, Temple plays Tulane Green Wave at the Lincoln Financial Field. Students reunite with old graduates and family members during this action-packed day. There were will be numerous set -ups in the parking lots for everyone to gather before and during the game. The alumni tailgate will be taking place about four hours before the game, and Temple’s website offers a comprehensive list of alumni partner planning to attend. In Lot K, there will be multiple tents with food, face painting and games to enjoy. Later that night, Zedd will be performing at the Liacouras Center.

To find out more events, Temple’s website has a full schedule with each event listed by specific date. The website also categorizes these events by arts, sports, entertainment and tailgates. If you’re looking for a certain event and time, you can browse through the website and find out more details about Temple’s most highly anticipated week of the fall semester.
