Restaurant Week: A Broke College Foodie's Dream Come True

By Michelle Zei
October 8, 2012 - 10:07pm

I still remember the first time I was walking down Chestnut in Old City and a tall bronze Buddha caught the corner of my eye through slightly cracked blinds. I immediately wondered what was behind the dark doors and large windows, but in my jeans and t-shirt I didn't dare enter. Fast forward two years, and I finally had a seat at Buddakan's table for Philadelphia's Center City Restaurant Week (and the crowd cheers). The food was everything I expected and then some, but I have to say what impressed me almost more was the service. READ MORE

We Are All Partial Spring Fling Queens

By Shanice Richardson
October 4, 2012 - 1:39pm

You walk into class, hair thrown back haphazardly, wearing sweatpants a t-shirt and flip flops.

American Dreaming Building making dreams into a reality

By Kaitlyn Rocks
October 4, 2012 - 9:38am

The American Dreaming building in Northern Liberties is barely noticeable when walking by. It is pushed off onto a small street by Spring Garden, the outside of the building is nondescript and quiet. But when I went into the Pop Up Mall on Sunday, my eyes were shocked with vibrant colors, fancy fringe and shiny studs and sequins. Leroy Mapp agreed to be interviewed prior to having any idea of what he was being interviewed about. When he learned that he was being interviewed for campus cutie, Leroy became clearly flattered, and, remaining true to his modest character, began to blush though modest, the 6’0” sophomore has a lot to be proud of. Despite his rigorous schedule, Leroy manages his time well enough to still be able to have fun, partying occasionally and always hanging out with friends. His joking, but not immature, nature exudes from his wide, gleaming smile that could make any female of any age take notice. READ MORE
