The Ultimate Survival Guide for Life in the Towers

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TCNJ chapter.
Living in the Towers can be rough with all its challenges, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to let that stop you from enjoying Freshman Year! Here’s our Survival Guide to the necessities that will help get you through it.
  1. FANS (with emphasis on the “s”)…you will want at least two fans, or you will be sweating constantly.
  1. Secret stash of snacks, which thanks to TCNJ we have a drawer right under our beds for!
  1. Shower shoes…you’re going to want to always wear those bad boys
  1. Balance, because well there is no way you’re getting all that shampoo and conditioner out of your hair if you’re over 5’5 and don’t have some serious balance to bend the right way without slipping
  1. Ethernet cord. It will save you from having to go all the way to the lib or elsewhere on campus to do work that requires wifi.
  1. Patience when it comes to cellphone service, or understanding that it simply is nonexistent in the Towers.
  1. An open door. Try to leave your door open a majority of the time so you can get to know the people on your floor! They’ll be your closest friends by the end of the year.
