This past week was dedicated to Islamic Awareness Month here at TCNJ. It is a week to promote peace and to showcase the true meaning of Islam through different events. This past Wednesday was the Art Gala and a well known artist, Faraz Khan, from Princeton came on campus to show some of his beautiful artwork as well as teach the audience about Islamic art itself.
Faraz Khan, the artist from Princeton, has been recognized by the Huffington Post and had a contract with the Warner Brothers for the Hollywood film, “American Sniper”. He is a geologist by day, and follows his passion of art side by side. His artwork is generated through the use of calligraphy and was generous enough to show us how and even let some students try it out!
