How To Make A Summer Scrapbook

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TCNJ chapter.

Are you looking for the perfect way to capture all of your best memories from the summer in an organized and easy way? Then you should try scrapbooking! It’s fun and easy to learn!  Some might say that you can accomplish the same thing through Facebook, photo albums online or on your computer.  However, it’s not nearly as enjoyable or creative, and it’s more exciting to share with friends and family.

First, you will need to figure out what pictures you want to print and where you want to print them from. Some good places to get pictures might be Target, Wal-Mart, or CVS. Now that you have your pictures printed, you’re ready to begin scrapbooking!

Here’s a list of what you’ll need:

(Most of these supplies you can buy at AC Moore or Target for an inexpensive price)

  1. A 16×16 inch scrapbook
  2. A pack of scrapbook paper (you can pick from different ones to see what matches your pictures best)
  3. Stickers to match your theme(s)
  4. Glue stick
  5. Scissors
  6. Pens (for writing descriptions or captions)

Steps:

1. First decide what pictures you’re going to put together on a sheet of paper, and lay them out. Also, if you need to cut off edges to fit them to the page or you can cut a fancy boarder around your pictures.

2. Then, cut your pictures (if necessary) and glue them to the paper. You can even cut up other pieces of paper and glue them to your main background to make an even more creative looking background!

3. Then add on any of your cute stickers or add a title using letter stickers to the top of your page.

4. Then you can use your pen to caption and/or date your pictures.

5. Once you have found a page for all of your pictures, you can start putting your pictures into the pages of your album.

There’s lots of ways to organize your pages in the album, many people choose to organize pages by date or event. Scrapbooking is an amazing way to organize and keep track of pictures by events or from certain dates.

Now that you’ve done all of that, you’ve created the perfect summer scrapbook to look back on your memories and show your friends what you did once you have to go back to school.
