How to celebrate Mother’s Day at TCNJ

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TCNJ chapter.

Mother’s Day falls on Sunday May 8th– right before finals week- so make sure to set a reminder for the date now before the chaos begins. You don’t have to get your mom an expensive gift for Mother’s Day- just spend some time with her! If you can’t, make a homemade card instead and tell her how much you love and appreciate her. But if you can, take her to some of these great places around TCNJ for some mother-daughter bonding!

Princeton- Princeton is only a short drive, and is beautiful in the spring! Enjoy some well needed fresh air (after days of studying in the library) and take your mom out for a fun-filled day of shopping on Nassau Street, with plenty of coffee and ice cream shops nearby!

Mani/Pedi’s- Going to the nail salon is the ideal mother-daughter activity any day of the year. It’s the perfect time to just relax and chit-chat, while getting an awesome foot massage.

Brunch- What better way to celebrate a Sunday holiday than with a nice brunch with your mom? Great food and delicious mimosas with your favorite woman makes the perfect weekend activity. Either stay on campus and take your mom to Traditions, or check out this article of all the great brunch spots around TCNJ!

Dinner and movies- A classic date night can be just as fun with your mom! Treat her to a nice dinner, then head over to the AMC movie theater in Hamilton to see a new movie, like The Jungle Book, Captain America: Civil War or The Huntsman: Winter’s War. However, you’re first thought to take your mom to see the movie Mother’s Day may be a mistake, because the movie actually got horrible reviews.

Although Mother’s Day falls on a very stressful time and you’ll have tons of studying to do, don’t forget to take some time out of your day for your mom! Make an effort to have a fun day together, and we guarantee that she will be so grateful.
