Dear Hillary Clinton

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TCNJ chapter.

Dear Hillary Clinton,

I have seen you work hard and put all your might into something you believed in so deeply. I want you to know that I bawled my eyes out when you lost because I was confident in you winning the election and I was ready for a female president to lead our country.

I want you to know that this is not the end. There have been several uproars within the country because people believed in you. It hurts me to know that this country would neglect to elect you, a powerful, hard-working and deserving woman.

I want you to know that you have paved the way for many more young girls and women to stand up for what they believe in. I want you to know that you have sparked something in each of us to fight for what is right and to realize our self worth.

Many times women go unnoticed, but you stuck out until the end.

I want you to know that your concession speech brought me to tears because I heard the words of hope resurface and I knew your words would enlighten young women like me. I want you to know that you have helped me use my platform and gender as a form of speaking out.

You are a role model, a fighter and a believer. I hope that you continue to inspire young girls and that you continue to fight for this country.

The country is divided and angry, but I know that love trumps hate.

Thank You Hillary Clinton & stay strong!

Sincerely,

A young, female college student
