Why You Should Join Her Campus Texas A&M

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TAMU chapter.

Here is a personal story of why I applied to be a part of Her Campus Texas A&M:

I was a struggling student wanting to get involved in journalism, but there were only a few organizations I knew about on campus. 12th Man Productions was focused only on sports, and the Battalion was a bunch of try-hards that didn’t have the freedom to creatively express themselves in their articles. I wanted to be apart of a group that had the freedom to write pieces about everyday college life.

One day I was going to class in the COMM building and found a flyer on the ground. It was cute, pink, and for a Her Campus informational. I quickly started doing my research and saw that it was a national based organization that focused on the empowerment of college-aged women.

We host some pretty lit events like the 2016 Her Campus Tour; it was the highlight of last year. We have some fun socials like dinner at Mad Taco, profit shares, and Thanksgiving potluck. Oh, and I cannot forget about the swag! FREE Vera Bradley, Camelbak, ASOS, Rimmel and so many more brands that what we’ve received from nationals. But, probably one the best parts about being in HC TAMU is making some pretty cool friends that love what I love. I love how easy-going and fun all the girls are. There are just so many opportunities that Her Campus has given me and it has made me proud to be part of this organization.

There are so many pros into doing Her Campus. Why wouldn’t you do it?
