Fighting the Spring Break Blues

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Syracuse chapter.

Spring Break has come to an end and with it so did our glimpse of warm weather. After all, it still doesn’t feel like spring in the frozen tundra, and getting three hours of sleep doesn’t feel as good when you know you won’t be waking up with your feet on the beach. So, how do you hold up until summer?

  1. Get your beauty sleep.

We know that everyone on campus is still on that spring break high and refuses to face reality, but trust me, you will miss having time to sleep when it is suddenly finals week! I know we are all excited to share our epic spring break stories with our friends, but first give your body a chance to recover and be fully rested.

2. Keep up your “Be Spring Break Ready” workout routine.

Yes, it may be awesome to not have to worry about having the perfect body for that trip to Cabo and to be able to eat all the pizza you want. However, you might want to continue your pre-spring break workout routine, since summer is roughly a month away. Plus, having an awesome body year-round will save you the trouble next spring!

3. Get busy with fun activities on campus.

Whether you have joined a sorority or one of Syracuse’s awesome drama clubs, chances are that you will be one busy bee. With break being over, getting involved in campus activities will keep you busy in the best of ways! And who doesn’t want to have more amazing memories to dwell on when you are back home for the summer?

4. Keep that tan going with a quality self-tanner.

As your golden bronze begins to fade, don’t give in to looking like Elsa. Although… we wouldn’t mind having her long, lux hair! If you worked hard on that tan, the best way to hold onto it is by lathering up with moisturizer and using self-tanner.

5. Miss the tropical drinks? Try juicing!

Just because you don’t have fresh coconuts on the quad and margaritas at the dining hall, it doesn’t mean you need to skip the tropical drinks. You can always load your mini-fridge full of frozen fruits and experiment with juicing. If you can’t juice in your dorm, there are plenty of places you can buy smoothies on campus!
