This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Suffolk chapter.

By Lily Zappulla

As another awesome Halloweekend comes to a close, it is imperative to spotlight some of Suffolk’s exceptional costumes. Whether you decided to rock a scary or cute costume, there is no denying these ladies seriously killed it this year! As hard as it was, I had to narrow down my choices to 10 favorite Halloween costumes of this season. Can’t wait to see what next year’s costume lineup will bring…

Mermaid – Kaitlyn Mentlick

From recreating scales by using eye shadow and fishnets, to her roommate Alexa Roht making her gorgeous skirt from scratch, Kaitlyn Mentlick absolutely stole the show this Halloween as the perfect mermaid. She made a breathtaking statement in blue.

Gumball Machine – Melissa Sheehan

I hate to burst your bubble…but Melissa Sheehan absolutely blew up the competition this year as a homemade gumball machine. Flirty and fabulous!

Broken Doll – Aria Sergany

All eyes were on Aria Sergany this Halloweekend.  She went as the hauntingly beautiful and incredibly talented broken doll.

Frozen (Elsa and Anna)- Kelly Mitchell and Allie

Roommates Kelly Mitchell and Allie showed of their inseparable bond by wearing homemade costumes from Frozen. I am melting over these girls!

Breakfast at Tiffany’s – Julia Tremblay and Emily Collins

Classy, cute, and creative, Julia Tremblay and Emily Collins decided to pay tribute to their favorite movie star, Audrey Hepburn.  They recreated her timeless Breakfast at Tiffany’s look…looking fabulously chic and savvy.

One Night Stand – Jesselyn Lee Arellano

Jesselyn Lee Arellano embraced her unique, clever style and fun-loving personality by dressing up as a “One Night Stand.” How punny!

The Great Gatsby – Becky and Abbey Slater

The incredibly chic and gorgeous duo Becky and Abbey Slater nailed Jordan and Daisy Buchanan from The Great Gatsby. Not to mention their accessories are to die for and can totally be rocked again: it’s a win-win for these ladies!

Spice Girls – Samantha Mackowitz, Charlotte O’Neill & Friends.

HC’s Samantha Mackowitz and Charlotte O’Neill & her girlfriends channeled their inner 90’s fan-girl by dressing up as the Spice Girls. Can’t help but sing “Wannabe” when looking at these divas!

A Shark Attack Victim – Sky Davis

Clever way to disguise an injury! The whole night Sky was out, people were asking her if her crutches were a prop!

Nikki Minaj – Emily Katz and Nadine Moussa

Emily Katz and Nadine Moussa embraced their wild side by transforming into Nikki Minaj. Nailed it!

Honorable Mention:

Avatar- Lily Zappulla

Ferocious and fully covered in blue eye shadow, I embraced my inner warrior this Halloween by imitating an Avatar.
