Death Cab For Cutie: New Album and Tour Dates

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Suffolk chapter.

Lifelong Death Cab for Cutie fans like myself are very excited this month with not only the release of a new single by the band, but also that their 8th studio album “Kintsugi” is to be released March 31st.

Following their David Letterman appearance in late January where they played their new track “Black Sun”, they’ve just released another single from the album called “No Room In Frame”. Both these songs are nothing short of awesome, though a bit different from past Death Cab sound. “No Room In Frame” has a bit of an Asian flare, as I’m sure some of the other tracks on the album will, seeing that the title “Kintsugi” is a Japanese art that involves using gold, silver or platinum to repair pottery.

The ever-evolving Washington based band that has been around since ’97 has also recruited two new band members, Dave Depper and Zac Rae to replace Chris Walla, an original band member and producer who just announced his departure after completing “Kintsugi”.

Death Cab has also announced their 2015 World Tour dates, and will be coming to Blue Hills Bank Pavilion in Boston on September 11th alongside Explosions in the Sky.

Make sure to save the date and get Death Cab for Cutie’s new album March 31st! Also, buy tickets for their Boston show so you don’t miss out; many of their shows have been selling out like crazy!
