Cold Weather Investments You’ll Need This Winter

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Suffolk chapter.

Whether you’re one of those people that starts playing Christmas songs the day after Halloween or not, it’s undeniable that cold weather is headed our way. Here’s some investments you’ll want to start thinking about:

Swell Bottle

If you’re looking to keep your morning cup of coffee or tea hot for hours, this product is for you.  Although it’s a bit of a splurge, (it’s sold in three different sizes, 9 oz., 17 oz., and 25 oz., and the 17 oz. is $35) the Swell bottle is specially designed with a stainless steel insulation that guarantees to keep drinks hot for up to 12 hours, or cold for up to 24. The best part about this bottle? It comes in a variety of different designs, from white marble, to metallic, to wood. There’s even a Swarovski crystal collection – if you’re willing to drop a casual $1,500.

Touch Screen Gloves

There’s nothing more annoying than the struggle of taking off your glove to expose your bare hand in freezing cold temperatures just to read a text. Touch screen gloves take that hassle away by putting touch screen friendly fabric on the tips of the glove’s fingers, making it so that the screen responds and you can keep your gloves on in the process. These are the perfect holiday gift for anyone, and at a price that won’t break the bank.

Anything Aquaphor

Along with winter comes the dreaded dry skin spell we all know too well. Get ahead of the game this winter by starting your moisturizing routine early, and sticking with it. Aquaphor seems to go above and beyond the rest of its skincare competitors, and has received awards in Allure Magazine’s “Best of Beauty” spread for years in a row to show for it. Use Aquaphor on your chapped list, dry and cracking hands, or chalky legs and feel rejuvenated instantly.

Oversized Scarf

Versatile, comfortable, and stylish, an oversized scarf will serve many purposes for you this winter in addition to keeping you warm. It’s best to get it in a neutral color, such as a grey or a taupe, so that it can be paired with any winter outfit of your choosing. You can even switch up the look by wearing it as a shawl. You can find scarves ranging from $20 to $150 at any of your local department stores, or online at ASOS or Etsy.
