An UNREAL Chemistry ClassBy May 6, 2013 - 11:58am Everyone loves candy, we even have national holidays like Halloween where most people indulge in copious amounts of sugary treats. But do we really know what we are eating? Three girls here at Suffolk - Matilda Ivarsson, Marie Elisa Gonzalez and Stephanie Dulcey - were intrigued by UNREAL Candy, a new company that is revolutionizing the world of candy. UNREAL Candy is a company that has “unjunked candy” as they put it. They are taking out all the stuff that’s bad, although most of us probably didn’t even know they existed. Instead, the founders travelled the world to find replacements. READ MORE |

The Boston Marathon and IBy April 25, 2013 - 11:24am I was born and raised in Ashland, Massachusetts, a small town that is unknown to most, even those from the state of Massachusetts. When people at school ask me where I’m from, I usually reply with “a town next to Framingham” or “Ashland… it’s near the Natick Mall.” Ashland is the home of the electric clock, which allowed the town to justify naming our citizens “Ashland Clockers.” Yes, our mascot is a clock, and yes, I own many a t-shirt with clocks flying through the letter A on the front. Not ever being someone who cared about school spirit, aside from the occasional hockey game, I am still proud to come from a community with such an interestingly creative claim to fame. READ MORE |

No Internship? No Job? No Problem!By April 14, 2013 - 11:30am The end of spring semester is knocking on the door. You have spent countless hours applying for internships tweaking your resume and catering cover letters for each individual company. Maybe instead of applying for internships, you have spent many afternoons walking around filling out generic applications and trying to find a decently paying job for the summer. Somehow after interviews and follow-up emails or phone calls you have nothing to show for it. The initial sting of what feels like missed opportunity can be disheartening. It is easy to feel as though all the time and effort you put into finding an internship and/or a job has gone to waste. READ MORE |
