Top 5 Europe Hostels

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Strath chapter.

Taking a city break does not have to be expensive, and while most feel they always need to splurge on an expensive hotel, this is not the case! There are hundreds of amazing hostels across Europe and once you check into 1 you won’t turn back!

1) Plus hostel Berlin

This is by far one of my favourites! Situated bang in the centre of East Berlin, you have every funky bar and the best of Berlin’s nightlife a stone’s throw away. Even better, with an amazing student bar, 2 restaurants and a daily maid service, you are getting a hotel experience and more for a quarter of the price!

2) Wombat hostel Munich and Vienna

Although they are in the same hostel chain, each hostel is unique. The large attic dorms in Vienna are 2 floors with amazing views! Both are completely filled with students so you will most definitely meet people from every corner of the planet at the bar. The Munich hostel is right next to the main station and a 10 minute walk from all the main sites and beer gardens. Doesn’t get much better than a Wombat Hostel!

3) Hive Budapest

Being one of the top party hostels in Budapest, there is always so much going on! Thank god the rooms are sound proof unlike some! Just around the corner are all the famous, ruin bars and some fabulous breakfast places to cure the hangover. Everything is within walking distance from this hostel, even a fabulous 4 story Zara store!

4. Plus camping Roma

Although this hostel isn’t bang in the centre of Rome, it is right next to the metro station so is only 15 minutes. They also do daily bus journeys straight to the Vatican for 3 euros! The campsite is amazing, they have a fantastic student bar and pool where parties are held almost every day!

5. St Christopher’s inn Paris, Gare du Nord

This Hostel is definitely one I would love to visit again. It is right across from Gare Du Nord station, and although this area isn’t one of the nicest in Paris, the price is too good to resist. The hostel is enormous, and AGAIN, the bar is superb with fantastic food as well! It is so clean with cool rooms and an amazing mix of students, so it one that everyone should add to their list!
