Perks of Dating an Airplane Pilot

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Stony Brook chapter.

What could be better than dating someone who’s handsome, easy to talk to and cares about you a lot? Dating someone who is all of the above and more, plus he knows how to fly an airplane. Honestly, ladies, could pilots be any more attractive? They literally take tons of metal over large distances and make it fly

1. They’re smart

The amount of schooling it takes to become a pilot is insane. There are so many licenses and certifications that pilots need before they can even begin to work for an airline. From Private licensing to Airline Transportation Pilot (ATP) licensing, there are so many lessons and exams that prospective pilots need to undergo to begin flying 747s all over the world.

2. They know how to fix problems

Whether in the cockpit or in your relationship, pilots are problem solvers. They think of solutions quickly and will do anything to save the plane or your relationship from plummeting to the ground.

3. They’re hardworking

It takes a lot of work and dedication to become a pilot and to flying planes in general. It takes even more work to be present in a relationship while flying planes all day.

4. They care about people

It’s no question that pilots care about their passengers. They pay close attention to the skies and radio control towers to get people to their destinations safely. In relationships, pilots truly show their caring attitudes.

5. They can get you free flights

Want to get away for the weekend? Let’s fly to the beach for a weekend getaway!

Honestly, I feel so lucky to be dating an airplane pilot for all of the above reasons and also because he’s a great guy in general. So get yourself a significant other who can take you to new heights!

Stony Brook

I am a Junior at Stony Brook University majoring in Linguistics and minoring in English and Writing and Rhetoric. I love reading and traveling to places I've never been before. I often go on adventures, such as hiking and finding new towns and cities to explore. These moments truly inspire me to continue writing, especially about the different places I've gone to and the experiences I've had. Ever since I was a young girl, I've always wanted to become a published author!
