Shark Attack

Incase you couldn’t tell, Shark Attack has been taking over Stonehill’s campus this past week. This is the one event that has an effect on every single person on Stonehill’s campus. Even when you don’t play, you always seem to get wrapped up in an attack or telling your friend everything you know about that girl you once saw walking back to her dorm.

Shark Attack is a ruthless game; it tears some people apart while bringing others together. Friends that have each other as targets can either end in a truce or end in a brutal attack. With the changing of Facebook pictures and names, you start to question every person you’re friends with. As the number of students playing gets smaller, the steaks get higher. Each kill you make gets you one step closer to victory.

You see people running from the caf with meals to-go that will last them for the next few days, friends checking outside their classrooms before they tell their classmates if the halls are clear, and the sounds of screaming students as the run across the quad trying to get to Stanger as they’re being chased by someone holding a small plastic shark.

With finals coming up faster than we would all like to believe, this game may be a blessing in disguise. With the active shark attackers hiding out in safe zones, they are forced to do some work. The longer you stay in, the more time you spend in the library or the science center and the more likely you are to get some studying done. However, while you are all hiding out inside, the rest of the campus is enjoying the weather and spending some time outside, hanging out in the quad and throwing a frisbee around.

Good luck to all the sharks still out there, but don’t forget to spend some much needed time outside with your friends and enjoy this warm weather!!!
