An R. Kelly Review, "Trapped in the Closet"

By Meaghan Durkin
April 16, 2013 - 8:38pm

Recently I sat down and took the time to watch all 22 episodes of R. Kelly’s “Trapped in the Closet”.  And let me tell you, this was not a waste of time.  This drama takes up to an hour and half to watch, and gives you everything and anything you could hope from R. Kelly including: a plethora of people cheating on each other, two bombshell confessions of coming out of the closet, drugs, a church choir, guns, someone finding out that they are not the father and a midget.  I would also like to point out that R. Kelly’s character is named Sylvester, which is the icing on the cake of this saga.  I thought I would highlight some of my favorite parts of “Trapped in the Closet”, but I strongly encourage you to watch it yourself if you have the time....

By Meg Lewis
March 19, 2013 - 11:11am

If you are feeling the mid-semester slump and need a little pick-me-up, look no further than the ball of sunshine and inspiration that is Kid President. If you are unaware of this infallibly positive being, the basics are that he is a nine year-old inspirational speaker whose videos have gone absolutely viral and touched many people’s lives. His most popular video, entitled, “Pep Talk” has garnered over 15 million views and never fails to get me pumped up on a daily basis. I maybe should rethink the fact that a nine year-old is my role model, but then again, who wasn't their best version of themselves at age 9?   READ MORE

YouTubes-Day: "Billy On The Street"

By Meg Lewis
March 12, 2013 - 12:19pm

This week’s YouTube video to watch is none other than Billy Eichner on his hilarious series called “Billy on the Street” through Fuse where he harasses people on the streets of New York City with questions mainly concerning pop culture, but also some common knowledge. The series itself is hilarious mainly due to Eichner’s inability to become self conscious. This particular video is one of the most recent additions to the series, although the whole series itself is worth watching.  Click here to see Billy in action! https://www.youtube.com/watch?...     READ MORE

By Meg Lewis
February 26, 2013 - 1:45pm

Unless you have been living under a rock recently, you may be unaware that the Oscars were this past Sunday night. Amidst all of the glitz and glamour, the movies being honored were definitely deserving of the critical acclaim. One particular winner was Jennifer Lawrence for the movie "Silver Linings Playbook" where she starred opposite Bradley Cooper. While making her way up to the stage after recieving her award, Lawrence in her gorgeous Dior couture dress took a slight stumble on the stairs. While pulling it off famously, and delivering a very nervous, but excited and thankful speech, she brought out the comedy after the Oscars came to a close.  READ MORE

Sites we love--Runner's World

By Kate McCarthy
February 23, 2013 - 12:02am

A new semester means new goals and challenges. Just because it’s February, doesn’t mean you can start slacking on those New Year’s resolutions. Get up off the couch, out of the Commons and start running. We love Runner’s World because it offers guidance for those who are lacing up their sneakers for the first time, all the way to those who are training for a marathon. One of the best features of the site is the Race Finder. The Race Finder allows you to type in your location, as well as desired race distances and dates and all local races will appear. This is a great way to set some goals for yourself, so that by the time the snow is completely melted, you will have an extra spring in your step and a race on the horizon....
