5 Artists Who Just Resurrected from the Dead

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Stonehill chapter.

I was just doing my semi-annual iTunes browse and stumbled upon a few songs by artists that I thought fell off the face of the Earth. Have a listen and get ready for some new albums coming in the next few months.

1.     CeeLo Green

Kinda thought this man was still sitting in a big, red, rotating chair with a cotton-ball-looking cat on his lap. CeeLo recently released a few songs, ‘Robin Williams,’ ‘Sign of the Times,’ and ‘Music To My Soul.’ The singer seems to have matured and produced some meaningful songs, at least more meaningful than his 2010 hit ‘F*** You.’ All three songs are a part of his new album ‘Heart Blanche,’ set to release on November 13th.

2.     Sara Bareilles

Sara always releases hits, but in between those hits she must hibernate in the arctic tundra or something because she’s off the radar. She just released a single titled ‘She Used To Be Mine’ and I suggest you listen to it if you want a good cry.

3.     Vanessa Carlton

Vanessa is so confusing. If you check out her iTunes, she has released three singles in 2015, “Operator,” “Willows,” and “Young Heart.” She also has an EP called “Blue Pool” that has four songs, and in the works is a new album called “Liberman,” expected for October 23rd.  Although not very organized, Vanessa is an exceptional artist that I completely forgot about.

4.     JoJo

I’m sure you’ve heard the recent radio hit “When Love Hurts” in the past few months, but did you realize it was the same artist of the beloved 2004 hit “Leave (Get Out) and 2006 jam “Too Little, Too Late”? JoJo is back folks, enjoy it.

5.     Janet Jackson

Janet who???? That’s right, the one and only Janet Jackson will be releasing a new album called “Unbreakable” on October 2nd.  Jackson hasn’t released an album since “Discipline” in 2008, so if you were wondering why you don’t remember it it’s because you were in middle school and too busy listening to Gwen Stefani. You should give it a listen because she colabs with Missy Elliot and J.Cole in a few songs, and also because she is 49 and cooler than I will ever be.
