This past week was Spring Break for Saint Vincent students! There was a lot of bearcat sightings all across the country and globe. You can check out what some trips included in our article last week.
I was able catch up with a few students that went to Italy for Spring Break as a part of the Photo Imaging and Composing class. The students all agreed that the trip was a once in a lifetime opportunity filled with memories that will be with them forever! The trip included stops in Rome, Florence, and Pisa. All the major sights such as the Coliseum, Vatican City, the Duomo in Florence, and many other tours were included. The students also found themselves wondering through the beautiful streets, finding the most unique coffee shops, and mingling in markets.
If you’re thinking of studying abroad, a short faculty led trip will give you a taste of what it feels like to be abroad! Emily, Cecilia, and Sammy were kind enough to share their experiences with Her Campus.
Emily Best C’17- “I decided to embark on my journey to Italy to experience their culture, visit Europe, and I knew I would never have an opportunity like this again. It was a life changing event and made me realize how different and lucky we are here in America! I would go back to Italy in a heartbeat but now I am more open to exploring other parts of the world like London, Greece, Spain, and Ireland to experience their culture and wonderful sceneries. 10/10 highly recommend!”
Sammy Geracia C’17- “It’s hard to pick a favorite part. Experiencing the culture and the homemade pasta, although I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to eat pasta in the U.S. again. Also, the people were so nice and always so willing to help whether we were lost or trying to figure out what something said. Seeing all the monuments that have been around for so long was awesome. They were all ginormous and beautiful!”
Cecilia Stasko C’17- “The most unexpected thing experienced while traveling was having to pay to use the public restrooms and having to pay to sit down and eat at a restaurant. I wish I would have brought back an Italian man that had an amazing accent, or fresh fruit from a market.”
