Name: Allison Ware
Year (Class): Senior
Birthday: November 14, 1994
Major: Political Science/Criminology
Hometown: Allison Park, PA
Why did you choose your major?
When I started at SVC, I was a Political Science major because I intended to go to law school. Then I took Intro to Criminology with Dr. Kocian and realized how much I enjoyed that field and that it would be very applicable to my future plans, so I added the second major.
We’re getting close to graduation! What are your plans after you graduate from SVC?
I will be attending law school next fall, most likely at Duquesne University.
Speaking of graduation, are you going to decorate your cap?
I am probably one of the least creative people on this campus so it doesn’t look promising but if someone gave me an idea, I would probably do it.
I understand you are a busy person. What clubs do you participate in on campus?
I was the president of the Criminology Club for three years and also participated on the Mock Trial, APB, and Women in Business.
Do you have a favorite professor at SVC? If so, who and why?
I don’t have one favorite professor in particular, but all of the professors in both the Politics and Criminology departments have been exceptional both in and out of the classroom. They work many more hours than they have to develop a relationship with each student and make sure they get to know us on a personal level while helping us achieve success both at SVC and beyond.
What would be your favorite SVC memory?
I can’t think of one specific memory that is better than any of the rest. I have truly enjoyed my four years at SVC and I will be very sad when it comes to an end in a couple months.
We’re just getting back from Spring Break. How was your Spring Break?
My spring break was relaxing and a nice break from school, but I realized once I got back that I should have done significantly more school work than I did.
I heard you did some traveling over break. Where did you go?
Yes, I went to Florida with a few of my friends for the week. The weather was beautiful and it was nice to get away from Latrobe for a little while.
Do you have any siblings?
I have one brother and he is one of my best friends. This year, he is a freshman at Fordham University.
What’s something not many people know about you?
One of my bucket list items is to visit all 50 states.
