Valentine’s Day: A Movie Guide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St Olaf chapter.

I’m sure you don’t need another reminder of what day is just around the corner, whether you’re really excited for it or you groan just at the thought of it. But nonetheless, I think Valentine’s Day weekend is the perfect time to indulge in some rom coms, and here are some to get you started:

The Proposal

Ryan Reynolds experiences many emotions amidst this proposal, but is unbelievably cute through it all.

27 Dresses

“Love is patient, love is kind… love is slowly losing my mind.”

Valentine’s Day

Because, when else would you watch this movie? And I just love all the cast members in it…

A Cinderella Story

The Austin Ames, Chad Michael Murray, Hillary Duff one, of course. Because who doesn’t love that combo?

Life as We Know It

The classic couple that starts out hating each other but feel quite different by the end of the movie… but whatever, it’s cute.

And these last two movies may evoke a few more feelings… but they are so good.

Perks of Being a Wallflower

One thing I just really love is that love is expressed through typewriters and mixtapes. And it highlights the importance of mental illness, but also how people can be there for you through it all.

Stuck in Love

This movie contains a lot of raw emotions about feelings, especially love, which may give you a different perspective.

These are great movies to watch any day, but why not use the perfect excuse and watch them this Valentine’s Day weekend?

xoxo,

Bridget
