Year: Sophomore

Major: Chemistry

If you could meet anyone(famous, etc) , who would you want to meet?

Probably Emma Watson, she’s my role model.

Describe your overall experience at St. Olaf: It’s been absolutely fantastic so far!

Favorite winter activity: Downhill skiing

Fruits or vegetables?

Fruits.

Would you rather go back in time or go to the future?

I’d rather not time travel, weird stuff always happens when you do.  If I had to pick though, I’d go back in time.

Are you involved in any clubs at St. Olaf?

I’m a member of the St. Olaf Philharmonia.

What is your favorite past time activity?

Rock climbing, reading, playing board games.

Beef or chicken tacos?

Beef tacos, I’ve never really had chicken tacos.

What is some advice you have for college freshman or prospective students?

Studying is important, but so is your mental and physical health.  Don’t forget to take care of yourself.

Favorite class taken at St. Olaf so far: Cell biology or my first year writing class (PSA, all of the science professors are amazing).

What do you look forward to after attaining a college degree?

I hope I can go to medical or graduate school, and hopefully work with children as my career after that.

Favorite quote: “Use what talent you possess: The woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang best”- Henry van Dyke

Food that you absolutely can’t stand: Mushrooms, I hate their texture.

Marvel or Justice League fan?

Marvel all the way.

Favorite activity to do with friends: Play board games or go on walks.

How has the Hill helped you further a passion in your life?

I’ve definitely been able to fully embrace the scientific part of myself and let myself have fun while learning.

Is there anything at St. Olaf that you look forward to pursuing more?

I look forward to continue to pursue my interests in science.  I hated chemistry in high school, but now I’m majoring in it, so it will be nice to further explore that area of science.

How has St. Olaf helped you develop your future plans?

The Piper Center has helped me a lot as far as internship opportunities go, but the atmosphere at St. Olaf in general has motivated me to pursue my dreams.
