Summer is Coming! 5 Things To Look Forward To

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St. Law U chapter.

1. Catch some rays!

Whether you’re at the beach, by the pool, or just in your backyard…there’s no better time than summer to soak in some sun. Make sure you use your SPF though, you don’t want to end up like Ross Geller from Friends!

2. Explore the outdoors!

One of the best parts about summer is that even if it’s not super sunny outside, as long as it isn’t raining you can always go exploring. Go for a hike, go on a boat ride, or discover a cool nature spot (like a waterfall or natural spring!). The world is beautiful and there are hidden beauties no matter where you are!

3. Hang out with or visit friends!

Whether you’re reuniting with your best friends from high school and/or visiting your friends from college in their hometowns, hanging out with friends and just having a good time is one of the best parts of summer.

4. Spend more time with family!

One of the tough things about being in college is being away from your family for long periods of time. So…spend this nice, long break spending quality time with your family.

5. Go to a concert!

Concerts in the summer are simply better than concerts at any other time of the year. You get to be in warm weather, wear shorts and tank tops and the sun doesn’t set until much later…and the music is just always better in better weather. A bonus to summer concerts is that most performing arts centers (for most performances) sell cheap tickets (like lawn seats) making concert-going so accessible! A few great places to attend concerts in the summer are the Xfinity theatre in Hartford, Connecticut, the Amphitheater in Syracuse, New York, and SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center) in Saratoga Springs, New York (among many other theatres of course). Go listen to some good music and have a good time!
