7 Shows to Binge Watch This Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at STCU chapter.

Spring break is just around the corner and that means one thing and one thing only: time to binge watch as many shows as humanly possible. To make it a little easier for you, here are 7 must-watch shows this spring break.

1. Jane the Virgin

This show currently has two seasons on Netflix and the third season currently airing on television. If you want to watch a hilarious comedy about an accidental pregnancy with all the nuance of a telenovela, this is the show for you! You’ll get to bask in the brilliance that is Jane, ogle Rafael and crack up at basically everything Rogelio says. Jane and her wonderfully dramatic family are all you need this break.

2. The Vampire Diaries

Okay, here me out: I know that you’ve probably heard of this one and are already tired of hearing about it but I promise it’s a good investment. The show recently came to a close which makes it all the more important to binge watch. I can’t defend the overdone plot-lines or the circling around the characters do but I can defend how sexy Damon Salvatore is. That’s really all there is to say about it.

3. The Flash

What more do you need than a super speedster, brilliant and snarky engineers and the coolest dad ever? If you need something a little more fast paced with some action, The Flash is your best bet. Not only does Barry Allen run super fast but he’s also super dork which is something we can all relate to.

4. The 100

This one is way grim but there’s something about Clarke and Lexa that really just does it for me. The show is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humans had to leave Earth because it was uninhabitable. The return of the humans is what the show centers around as 100 delinquents are first sent to the ground to test the waters. There’s 3 seasons of it on Netflix so there’s plenty of content to binge watch.

5. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo

I never said everything was going to be on Netflix or in English and this is why. A Korean drama about a weightlifter navigating the hurdles of college, boys, friends and her family is just what you need to relax during break. This show is near and dear to my heart because it’s the most hilarious and heart-warming show I’ve ever seen. It also spurred forward my never-relenting craving for fried chicken.

6. Merlin

If you’d like to travel back in time to King Arthur’s era, this is the perfect show for you. The tale that will never get old is ever present in this spin of Merlin and Arthur’s journey. You’ll fall for the charms of this show quickly and it will likely make you both laugh and cry. Between the knights, adventures and mystery, you’ll be engaged all throughout break.

7. Gossip Girl

I know. You’ve probably already seen this and love it as much as I do but it’s a classic. You might have already binge watched this for the third time just last summer but it’s a classic! You really can’t get too much Blair and Chuck in your life.

Whatever you end up watching, enjoy it! It’s your spring break so make the most of it–in your pj’s!
