When and how did y’all meet?

February 2016- We were both at the Kevin Fowler concert at the Houston rodeo cook. He was standing behind me and decided to photo bomb me and my friends’ (I’m that friend!!) picture. He then put his number in my phone and called his number so he would have mine. When I left that night, he started texting me. We agreed to meet up again the next day and the rest is history!

When and how did he propose?

December 16, 2016- All he told me was wear a nice dress for my birthday dinner he wanted to take me to. We went to dinner at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant in Las Vegas and then he surprised me with a helicopter ride over the strip. When we got down both of our families and my best friend were waiting there and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!

When is the big day: June 9, 2018

Wedding theme: rustic chic

Wedding location: Big Sky Barn in Montgomery, TX

What is the difference between dating and being engaged?

Your goals and plans merge together. Before being engaged my goals revolved around what was best for me, but now I look at what will be best for us. Simple things become a joint decision such as where to move to after college and future careers. After getting engaged we are able to connect on a deeper level and have deeper conversations about real life situations that will come one day.

How do you balance planning a wedding and school?

Take it one day at a time. School and wedding planning can become very overwhelming when combined, so I try to take everything one day at a time. I focus on one task and when that is finished, I move to the next. We have a long engagement so that helps balance things too!

Has life changed for you since your engagement, if so how?

It has become so fun! I get to wake up everyday knowing I am going to marry and spend my life with my best friend. My heart is filled with joy and it is such an adventure during this period of engagement!

How did your friends react to your engagement?

They were very excited for both of us! It was extra special having my best friend by my side to share the special moment with me!

How did your family react to your engagement?

They were more supportive and encouraging than I ever could have asked for. Both sides of our families have been there every step of our relationship willing to help and love us both through everything.

Your favorite thing about being engaged?

Wedding planning is definitely fun! But I think planning and preparing for a future together is my favorite part! We have begun doing little studies on how to love each other better and discussing what each of us want in life. We try to work together on things as a team and try to push each other to the best versions of ourselves.

Hardest part about being engaged while in school?

It does get hard being at a different phase in life than a lot of my friends. This does have its setbacks at certain times, but I have really encouraging and supportive friends that make this a little easier.

Dream wedding singer: Carrie Underwood

Dream wedding destination: Bora Bora

Favorite thing about your fiancé?

His kindness. He has a huge heart that overflows with love, not only with me, but with everyone he meets. There has never been a day that he has not encouraged and supported me. Even on the hardest days he’s shown me unconditional love!

What’s your fiancé’s bad habit(s)?

Waking up early! Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE my sleep. It has been very hard getting used to someone that is up and ready to get the day started when the sun comes up, but it is teaching me patience and love even through our differences.

Favorite celebrity wedding dress?

I don’t really have a favorite celebrity wedding dress. Once I get to the dress step, I’m sure I will, but like I said I have to take things one step at a time.

Dreams for the future for you and your fiancé?

We both want to move to the Dallas area after I am finished at A&M. I hope that we both can find jobs that we love and one day start a family. We want to love each other more and more everyday and never let life get boring!

Best of luck to you two! I wish y’all nothing but lots of joy and happiness together! Who knew the rodeo was the place the find yourself a man?! I love you so much ️
