5 Non-Love Songs for Your Spring Playlist

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St. Andrews chapter.

A few weeks ago, we published an article with five love-song suggestions for your spring playlist, but if that’s not your cup of tea, we’ve got you covered with a few songs that aren’t about love to add to your playlist!

1. “HUMBLE.,” Kendrick Lamar

Amazing beat? Check. Empowering music video? Check. Is subtle shade being thrown? Check, yet again. Lamar has always been perfection and he proves it once again with his latest single.

2. “Too Much,” Kehlani

Now while she is technically singing this to someone she was romantically interested in, the entire song is about how she’s too much of a badass for them to keep. Kehlani knows whats up.

3. “Drew Barrymore”, SZA

So I’m kind of cheating a bit here, but the song is so addictive and her voice is just sugar. And if you look at the lyrics, it’s more of an almost anti-love song.

4. “You’re So Vain,” Carly Simon

An oldie but always a goodie – Simon is a savage, and this song will forever be dear to me.

5. “Wild Things,” Alessia Cara

This song, to me, expresses all the youthful energy that comes with Spring – a perfect song for this season. It’ll have you dancing to the beat of your own drum in no time.
