Sloan Coolbroth ’17

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at South Carolina chapter.

Name: Sloan Coolbroth

Hometown: Roswell, Georgia

Year: Junior

Major: International Business, Finance, & Business Management

Relationship Status: Single

Greek Life: Phi Sigma Kappa

Hollywood Crush: Julianne Hough… She’s obviously gorgeous and one of my favorite actresses.

This week’s campus cutie has a need for adventure and a passion for culture! With an easy-going personality and a drive for a success, his balance on life brings happiness to him and those who surround him! But if that doesn’t pull you in, his sly humor will!

1. What are your passions/interests/hobbies?

God, family, and friends are my greatest passions. Without those three things, I wouldn’t be who I am today.

My biggest interests would be anything involved with Phi Sig, the outdoors, and traveling.

In my free time I like to fish, go sailing, and play the guitar.

2. Favorite food? Movie? Show?

If Zaxby’s didn’t exist, I don’t know how I would survive. A kickin’ chicken sandwich is the easiest way to my heart.

I know they are kind of opposites, but 21 Jump Street and Crazy, Stupid, Love are awesome movies and never get old despite how many times I watch them.

Lost is the most mind-blowing TV show I have ever watched. Once you start, you’re hooked, and auto-play on Netflix will consume your life for a week.

3. Are you up to no good or in bed on Netflix? Where do you usually find yourself on a Friday night?

Friday nights are always a wild card. Sometimes that means a chill movie night with the guys, or on other nights, more wild endeavors.

4. Dinner and a movie? Romantic walk on the beach? A day full of adventure? What’s your idea of a perfect date?

I would without a doubt choose to be adventurous. I’m a very spontaneous guy and love to make it up as I go along. It creates a sense of suspense and anticipation when either one or neither of us knows what is going to happen. I think it is incredibly attractive when a girl can go with the flow and we can have a good time regardless of where we are and what we are doing.

5. You couldn’t wait for that dreaded night to be over…what’s the worst date you’ve ever had?

I was trying to really impress this girl in high school that I had a crush on for a while. We went to hang out with some friends and watch a movie at a buddy’s house. I had somehow convinced my dad to let me drive his car which was significantly nicer that my super manly Chrysler Sebring convertible. In my incredibly smooth high school nature, I accidentally put the car in reverse instead of drive when we were leaving and proceeded to hit the car behind me. I don’t think we said one word on the car ride home…

6. You’ve just met the girl of your dreams, what does she look like and what’s her personality like?

My dream girl probably would be tall, blonde, athletic, and someone who is as beautiful in the morning as they are when they go to bed. Realistically though, I could care less about what she looks like. A girl that is confident in herself, has a genuine personality, and a love for God is all that I could ask for.

7. What are your biggest turn offs/turn ons?

Turn offs – I would say a girl who’s one idea of fun is going downtown. Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with that, but if we can’t have fun by just going to the river, road tripping, or just watching a movie, it won’t work out.

Turn ons – Honestly if a girl laughs at my stupid jokes, it’s all over. I’m a sucker for girls with a cute laugh and smile. I also find it really attractive when a girl gets along with my friends and has just as much fun with a group as we do alone.

8. It seems like half the college population is split on this one…what’s your view on relationships in college?

I believe college is the time to truly discover who you are, what interests you, and what you are passionate about in regards to all areas of life. Relationships and dating are a very important part of discovering more about yourself and what works for you.

9. All of a sudden you’re thirty…what are you up to?

My ultimate goal in life is to create and develop my own international business. Other cultures and groups of people are incredibly fascinating to me, and I would love the opportunity to run a business that impacts many countries globally.

10. What do you want the women on USC campus to know about you?

I’m an outgoing guy who lives life to the fullest. I love meeting new people, trying different things, and experiencing everything South Carolina has to offer.
