Shows You Need To Binge

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at South Carolina chapter.

Binge-watching is the reason why we get no work done. Besides, it’s easier to blame Netflix for procrastination than it is to blame our social lives. So if you’re going to put all time into the Godsend known as Netflix, you might as well do it right. Here are some classics, some utterly addictive, and some good in-betweeners that you should try out next time you scroll through.

1. Shameless

If you’re into dry humor, twisted plots and lots of nudity, you should try this one out. The show tells a story about the lives of six kids and one single, alcoholic father with a handful of problems. It’s not one of those shows you have to watch every single second to understand what’s going on, but it’s funny and entertaining. You’ll probably end each episode questioning how you can be so into a show that’s so screwed up, tbh. If you watch it, you’ll understand.

2. How to Get Away with Murder

If you have time on your hands and you’re looking for a show to live through, check out this one. It’s scandalous, intriguing, and will definitely keep you on your toes. The worst part about the show is resisting the urge to click the “play next episode” button. The main character, Annalise Keating, is a total badass.

3. The People v. O.J. Simpson

This one is by far the best show for a quick binge. A 30 episode series filled with gore and thrill, this dramatization recaps the malicious story of what happened when Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were found brutally murdered. You could be absolutely clueless about anything and everything that has to do with the O.J. Simpson trial, but by the time you finish the show, you’ll be fully educated on what went down.

What are some of your favorites?
