Justin Bieber Going….1980’s?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at South Carolina chapter.

After soundcloud user TRONICBOX introduced Justin Bieber’s hit “What Do You Mean” in a retro 80’s version, all of us had to stop and ask ourselves, was Justin Bieber born in the wrong time zone?

The song comes complete with a Justin Bieber 1980’s-esque album cover as well as a completely redone version of the song. The album cover in itself is incredible, featuring a mullet hairstyle as well as Justin Bieber gazing into the camera in nothing short of 1980’s picturesque album cover style–freaked out yet?

The slowed down and modified version of the song is almost as good, if not better, than its original. The new song, titled “What Do You Mean It’s 1985” plays a typical melody you can picture hearing in “Full House” or some other older sitcom. The song brings into question whether or not Justin Bieber was really born in the correct time zone.

Not only is this song good, but it’s actually perfect for doing various acitivites. It’s a great song for chilling in your room, great for car rides, and even ideal for pumping yourself up during a workout. This new version has an edge even the original does not have.

Let’s be real, with his dance moves, on top of this 1980’s remake, Bieber definitely has what it takes to be successful in the 1980’s. Just like every other 80’s trade, Bieber has also made an incredible comeback in his career, only furthering the evidence that he was born in the wrong time zone. Being a Belieber is back, like many trends that occurred in the 1980’s. Basically, Bieber just proves once again that he could rock on no matter what the decade.
