  Sweet and southern, just like the Chik-fil-A tea she drinks every day, Lauren Gurley is a ray of SMU sunshine. At only 4’ 10” , you might miss her walking through Cox Business School, where she is in the Alternative Assets program. However, it’s hard to miss this southern belle from Birmingham, Alabama when she’s being tossed in the air. Lauren is, and has been for past three years, the flyer for the SMU Cheer Squad. HC: When did your cheer career get started? Lauren: I competed as a Level 10 gymnast up until the eighth grade.  I started cheerleading during my freshmen year of high school for my school's team. Katie Sarah Roberts: Dallas Does Brunch

    “No pictures, please,” is one common celeb phrase you’ll never hear blogger Katie Sarah Roberts say.   Roberts is cofounder of Dallas Does Brunch, or “DDB,” a blog that revolves around food and fashion. DDB has integrated high quality photography as part of the blog to show how delightful the “two Fs” can be.   The San Diego native jokes about the quirky details of her childhood that shaped the person she is today. She might be the only person at SMU (or ever) who had a duck named “Quackers,” but she is grateful to the school and to Dallas for the impact the culture has had on her life.       READ MORE

Taylor Corrigan from Las Vegas, NV doesn’t have the typical part-time job of many college students. The sophomore, who is majoring in Marketing and minoring in Education, designs and sells her own jewelry line called Tay. HerCampus talked to Taylor to find out more information, including how you can buy these amazing pieces! How did you get started making jewelry? TC: I started making friendship bracelets with my cousins out of yarn when I was younger, and then it just kind of escalated and I started using beads and other things besides string.
