It’s not a secret that I, along with many other guys and girls, wear makeup. I’m not saying that everyone has to wear makeup, it’s just something that I enjoy doing every day! I would say that makeup has always been something that I was interested in, so when I was finally allowed to wear clear mascara and blush in middle school, I was super excited. Now I have moved onto a bigger and better thing– eyeshadow palettes and foundation — yet my love for makeup is still the same. In my free time, you can probably find me on my computer watching makeup tutorials. Here are five reasons why I love makeup.

1. Enhancing natural beauty

Makeup is good at covering up imperfections, but also amazing at highlighting your natural beauty. Enhancing what you already have is a lot easier than hiding what you don’t like, plus if you “play up” the features that you enjoy the most (your eyes, for example), then it really allows your natural beauty shine through.

2. Applying it is therapeutic

Putting on my makeup is what I look forward to doing every morning. I know, that sounds lame, but honestly doing my makeup takes my mind off of the things in life that are stressing me out, and once I’m done I feel like I’ve accomplished one of the many things off of my to do list.

3. There is so much variety!

Walking into a makeup store can be overwhelming because there is so much to look at. However, having such a wide variety to choose from is why I love makeup so much! There are so many different brands, price ranges, colors, and the list goes on! There is something for everyone, and new products are constantly being released.

4. Experimenting

As I said, there are so many makeup products to choose from, so you probably aren’t going to like everything. One of my favorite things to do when I buy a new makeup product is to swatch it and test it out! This ends up with me trying out different “looks” with not only the new makeup that I bought, but also with products that I already had in my collection. Makeup is like art, and there is so much you can do with it!

5. It makes me feel good!

And the most important part is that I wear and love makeup because it makes me feel confident — it’s not for anyone else. If you like to wear makeup and it makes you feel confident? Go for it! If you feel uncomfortable wearing makeup? Then you shouldn’t feel forced to wear it. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident, not what other people tell you looks good!
