What to Get Your Guy for Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SMCVT chapter.

As Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, you may be feeling the crunch of trying to find something for your boyfriend. Personally, I find it pretty difficult to shop for boys, and Valentine’s Day is no exception. If you’re feeling stuck for an idea of what to get your boyfriend, then here are a few ideas to get the ball rolling!

1.  Make a compliment jar

A fairly easy DIY is the “compliment jar”, but if you’re making this for your significant other, then simply labeling it as “reasons why I love you” is perfect! Letting them know how much you care for them will put a smile on their face. All you have to do is get an empty jar, decorate it, and fill it with small sheets of paper with reasons why you love them!

2.  Bake something!

Baking their favorite sweet treat for Valentine’s Day is a cheap and easy way to make them happy on this special day. You could even make a holiday-themed treat like heart-shaped sugar cookies! This could obviously be done with your significant other as well because spending time with them is just as, if not more, important.

3.  “Movie night in a box”

Another easy DIY is movie/date night in a box! All you need is a box, your favorite candies, popcorn, and a movie and you have a complete set for any date night! Decorating the box is just an added touch.

4.  Shaving kit

This could be store-bought or yet another DIY, but a self-grooming kit is an easy idea. Razors, shaving cream, soap, etc. There are so many things you could add to a self-grooming basket! Just add anything that you think your boyfriend would like.

5.  Photo album

If you have a lot of pictures on your phone of you and your significant other, then an easy idea is printing them and putting them in a photo album, scrapbook, or picture frame. There are different photo-printing apps, but drugstores and certain stores also print them for you!

If all else fails, making a card or taking them out for a nice dinner is something that will be appreciated just as much (maybe just make sure to make reservations before). If you want to make dinner a little more personalized then, if you have access to a kitchen, you could make a romantic dinner for two. Almost anything you do for your significant other will be appreciated, just as long as you show them how much you care!
