HC: Why did you choose SMC?
AH: I chose SMC because I was really drawn to the idea of a supportive and small community where I would be able to succeed while becoming a part of a strong family.
HC: Greatest thing SMC has taught you and why?
AH: SMC has taught me that while your college years may be extremely challenging, the years that you spend at SMC specifically help you to grow academically and in character. If it’s not difficult, then it’s not worth it.
HC: Plans for after graduation?
AH: I plan on working at my hometown hospital directly after graduation, while enhancing my patient-contact skills to hopefully go to medical school later to become a pediatrician.
HC: Favorite past time?
AH: My favorite pastime is working with and teaching children. I think that kids are so amazing and their innocence helps adults to understand how to be better and more compassionate people.
HC: Advice for incoming freshman?
AH: Definitely think outside of your comfort zone! Talk to that intimidating person in your math class, they might become one of your best friends. Take a chance and live with almost strangers, you might connect and form lifelong bonds.
HC: Favorite place on church street and why?
AH: My shopping brain is telling me to say Monelle’s, because I just bought this killer Kate Spade bag that was crazily on sale! My foodie brain is telling me that Sweetwater’s can never get too many recommendations, because it really is just great food at really resonator prices.
HC: What is something you wished you did while at SMC?
AH: I really wish that I took better advantage of the free and touristy things that the greater Burlington area has to off! I really missed out on the great (or so I’ve heard!) food trucks, the spectacular farmers markets, and the incredible views that can be seen from multiple mountain tops.
