Freshman year can be intimidating, but that didn’t stop our campus cutie Jake Myers from getting involved.
Hometown: Belmont, MA
Major: Political Science
Graduation year: 2019
Her Campus: What have you gotten involved with here on campus?
Jake Myers: I started out with intramural soccer, I’m the class senator for the student association and I manage the Men’s hockey team.
HC: Wow, that’s a lot to be involved with. What’s it like to to manage the hockey team?
JM: It’s pretty fun; it’s a good time. I’ve gotten to know the coach and I’ve gotten really close with the team. Getting up for 6:30 morning practices kind of sucked, but it wasn’t too bad. And the games are awesome so that made it worth it.
HC: Yeah, waking up early for practice can be extremely tough. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
JM: I’d have to say Ireland so that I could connect with my roots and get a sense of my heritage.
HC: That’s pretty cool. Do you have any advice you’d want to give incoming freshman?
JM: Make sure to manage your time wisely. Make sure to focus on academics first, but also make time to have fun and enjoy the college experience.
HC: I like that. What’s you favorite meal to get in Alliot?
JM: That’s a tough one. Some days I like the burritos and some days I like the spaghetti and meatballs.
HC: And if you were going into town where would you want to go?
JM: My friends and I like to go to Manhattan Pizza at the end of Church St. It’s pretty nice and a good time.
