In our modern lives we can find ourselves aimlessly scrolling and clicking our way through countless social media sites. This is commonly looked at as a negative side to our current technology but it isn’t all bad. I’m not quite sure how I began following Yoga Girl almost 5 years ago but she has become one of my all time favorite Instagram stars. She also helped me make a lot of connections when I first came to school as I bonded with a lot of people over the shared interest of following Yoga Girl. Rachel Brathen is this incredible yogi who shares with all her followers about her seemingly perfect life in the most relatable ways. She is very open about her struggles and triumphs and is always encouraging others to share and see the light in their lives. One of my favorite parts of her instagram aside from her rad yoga pics are the photos of her adorable daughter, Lea Luna. This moon baby is the cutest thing and will bring a smile to your face as you scroll through Instagram.

Formally known as getfitbrooklyn, Chinae got her big break on insta by sharing her incredible fitness transformation. As great as fitness transformations are to see, her female and human empowerment and badassery helps her stand out from the rest. She encourages everyone to love themself and that fitness is all about how we feel instead of fixing flaws. Her love for food, life, and self love give me the motivation to keep snacking, laughing, and living a thoughtful life.

I follow Holly because she was a sailing instructor at a camp I used to go to when I was little. Since then, as a single female, she has graduated from college and worked as a marine biologist for the American Science Foundation on their Antarctic Research Project. She has travelled the world alone on a limited budget and always is adventuring. Recently she bought her own sailboat and is refurbishing it all by herself, doing all of the hard work. She plans to make voyages as she lives on her boat and she doesn’t sit still!
