8 Times Friends Was Way Too Relatable For Singles

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SMCVT chapter.

“Friends” is a quality show. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend binge watching some episodes on Netflix. When “Friends” isn’t making you LOL, I have to say it has some pretty insightful moments. Being coupled up seems cool, but here are 8 times “Friends” was way more relatable for single people.

1. “I don’t get how guys can do so many mean things and not even care.”

HAHA. I want to put up a poster of this quote in my room or something because it really seems to be true about 90% of the time. As girls, we over-think everything we do and over-analyze every conversation we have, while boys can be seemingly oblivious to the hearts they’re breaking left and right. Awesome! If you’re looking for a significant other, keep in mind – you might not be missing out on anything too great. You could perchance end up dating a psycho, for example, or a jerkface, until you find the right person, A.K.A. your lobster. If you’re extra single like me, appreciate it and flaunt that unique freedom!

2. When you see your Alliot crush…

3. …then find out they are taken. How dare they!

*Drinks*

4. Or maybe you have no idea if that person even knows you actually exist, or maybe only knows your Instagram exists:

Sooooooo….that’s always a tad awkward.

5. On the bright side, you can order as much as you want at a restaurant, where you see cutesy couples splitting food and making googly eyes at each other. You do you!

6. And single or not, screw worrying about your body image for anybody other than yourself! Confidence is key.

7. Sometimes, you’re going to deal with those perfect couples – you know the ones I’m talking about. The ones who make you feel like:

The ones who don’t shut about how happy and wonderful they are together. And, don’t get me wrong, you’re totally happy for them and the fact that are essentially “relationship goals!” Good for them, they deserve each other!

8. Is your current relationship as awful as one of Phoebe’s songs? Music is the best medicine.

As crazy and disastrous as the single-life rollercoaster can be, remember that all you need in this life are good friends and laughs to get you through!
