I recently said to a friend that my entire life revolves around the fact that one day I am going to marry Niall Horan. “I literally don’t have a backup plan,” I told her. I was only half kidding.
I picked Niall out as the best member of One Direction back when they were on the X Factor, way before I was even a fan. I just really like blonde boys with baby faces. I knew. And I was right.
My best friend introduced me to One Direction properly a few years later, at the end of our freshman year at Skidmore. It was the very last day of the year, and we were sitting on her window seat in Howe-Rounds, waiting on our parents to show up, and watching people who lived in Wait pack their lives into the backseat of a minivan. On that fateful day she played me Niall’s solo in Better Than Words, and I was done for. I haven’t recovered since. Thanks, Ella.
As an avid Niall Horan stan, I firmly believe he is the superior member of One Direction. I also believe he’s the most underrated member, so I’m here today to attempt to rectify that problem. Here are my top ten reasons Niall Horan is the actual man of your dreams. You’re welcome, but also remember that I’m the one who’s gonna marry him one day. You can come to the wedding though.
- He’s Irish. Like, do I really have to say anything else?
2. He has the most soothing voice in the world. Listen to his new solo song if you haven’t done yet. It’ll change your life.

4. He’s naturally a brunette and he looks unbelievably good with either hair color. Brunette Niall rise honestly.
5. He’s got an adorable nephew. His name is Theo!! And Niall loves him so much!!
6. He loves sports, and he’s best friends with some of the most famous atheletes in the world, including, but not limited to, Rory McIlroy. Also, Niall nervously watching sports is my 2016 moodboard. 7. He loves to take selfies Take one look at his Instagram for further proof that he’s obsessed with selfies.
8. Look how good he looks in glasses, ugh.
9. He seems to equally love drinking and having a good time and sitting on his couch watching soccer. Honestly, dream man.
10. He honestly seems like the friendliest person in the world. Everyone loves Niall, and Niall loves everyone. How can you not love him?
