Valentine’s Day is always a fun holiday, filled with roses, cookies, and, if you’re lucky, romance. But what’s even better than a day devoted to appreciating and spending time with your significant other? A day that’s all about appreciating and spending time with your best girl friends! Yes folks, February 13th, Galentine’s Day, is nearly upon us, and as Leslie Knope would say, it’s only the best day of the year! We want you and your girls to have the best possible time celebrating and appreciating each other, so we’ve compiled a list of how to do Galentine’s Day just like the Parks and Rec gang:
Go out for a Girls’ Meal in town:
Saratoga Springs has some of the best food options around, so take advantage! Hit up some of our fabulous eateries with your besties, and chow down on whatever your hearts desire. This is a celebration after all!
Make each other gift bags:
Ok, so you don’t have to go quite as hard as Leslie (that is, you don’t have to hand craft mosaics of you friends’ faces out of soda bottles), but a bag filled with Hershey’s kisses or Lindt truffles will be surely be appreciated, as will cute little notes letting your gal pals know how much they mean to you. That’s what this day is all about!
Share stories:
Go around the circle and share the tales of your best and worst romantic encounters. It’s always fun to hear about those real life dramas that make your heart flutter, but worst date stories can be just as entertaining, if not more so. After all, Galentine’s Day isn’t about romance, it’s about the everlasting love you’ve got with your friends, and they’ll definitely appreciate and laugh with you about all those romantic mishaps that you wouldn’t want to share with anyone else.
Valentine’s Day and Sig O’s are fabulous, but at the end of the day, it’s your best girls who are going to stick by you through thick and thin, and we should absolutely celebrate that.
