Name: Ali Gendron a.k.a. Al-cat

Class Year: 2017

Major: Business

Hometown: Wellesley, MA

Hobbies/interests: Feminism, Buddhism, music (classic rock and folk/alternative), reading, long car rides, coffee, FOOD and movies (shout out to garden state, fight club, pulp fiction, memento, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, dazed and confused, and boyhood).

Relationship status: Buzzfeed says I’m single because I’m too “bad of a bitch”….? Let’s be honest, I have no idea what that means.

HC: What is something about yourself that you really love?

AG: I love that I have the best friends and siblings in the entire world. Somehow I’ve found a way to rope the gems of the Earth into putting up with me 24/7/365. I could not ask for more supporting, loving and inspiring people to be surrounded by.

HC: Tell us a fun fact about Ali.

AG: I would eat candy for breakfast every day if I could. Actually, I would only eat sugar if I could.

HC: What is something that makes you laugh?

AG: I’m the only one who laughs at my corny jokes. No one else thinks I’m funny but trust me, I am.

HC: Describe your perfect date.

AG: Walking around outside for hours and talking; then, putting on my pjs, watching a really good movie and eating comfort food.

HC: What is your idea of the perfect man?

AG: Zach Braff is my soulmate. I’ve seen everything he’s ever done multiple times. I might be obsessed with him. If you don’t know who Zach Braff is, you are a lost soul.

HC: What are your thoughts on love?

AG: There’s an incredible poet that I encourage everyone to check out, Warsan Shire. She adapted a Buddhist mantra: “my alone feels so good, I’ll only have you if you are sweeter than my solitude.” My belief is that each of us is whole on our own and that most of us don’t spend enough time exploring who we are and what we have to offer. I live by Warsan’s quote because I trust that the best love, the most important love, is the love we have for ourselves. My thought is that a person should spend more time alone and only separate from them self for people (a family member, a friend or a lover) who makes them feel as whole, and as sweet, as they are when they are completely alone.
