7 Makeup Tips for Finals Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Skidmore chapter.

Finals week comes with long days at the library, lack of sleep, and unhealthy eating choices that we don’t even realize we’re doing until it’s too late (Wafflefest anyone?). Here are a few tips to keep you looking fresh and well-rested even though we all know that’s not the case.

1. Curl those lashes: Your eyes will look bigger and more open. For the best results, use your curler at your lashline, then the middle of your lashes, and then at the end. Finish with a coat of mascara and you’re set to go!

2. Use two different eyeliners: Hear us out – using a dark pencil on your top lid, and then topping it with a liner in a jewel tone like sapphire or emerald will counteract the darkness under your eyes and make you look more alert and awake!

3. Line your bottom lashes: But not with a dark eyeliner. Use a soft nude or beige eyeliner on your bottom water line to decrease the redness under your eyes. Your eyes will look more refreshed and less like you just pulled an all-nighter.

4. Wear blush: A rosy pink on your cheeks will brighten your face and take the attention away from your dark under-eyes. Look for a rosy blush with a hint of gold to counteract the blue-ish hues under your eyes.

5. Even out your skin tone: Apply your foundation all over your face, including your upper and bottom eyelid. This will even out your skin tone and brighten your eye.

6. Brighten your eye: Applying a light eye shadow or highlighter to the corner of your eye will make them look more awake and alert!

7. STAY HYDRATED: Dark eye circles will be more evident if you are dehydrated. Water will firm up the skin under your eyes and makes your complexion look better in general. Drinking water is important every day but to keep yourself looking awake and refreshed, water is a must-have.

We hope these tips help you feel alive and alert for the rest of finals. Good luck!
